Mission and Vision.

Our Mission.

Partnering with schools and their communities on their journey to become culturally proficient and equitable ecosystems that ensure students of all cultures and social identities can achieve a future inspired by boundless dreams.

What is a culturally proficient school district? In culturally proficient school district staff work effectively across cultures and social identities in ways that acknowledge, respect and include the cultural and social identity of students, families, and community members served. A culturally proficient school district recognizes how current and historical socio-political forces impact schooling and disproportionately harm marginalized groups and proactively advocate for change.

Our Beliefs. Our Commitments.

We believe the responsibility of sustaining equitable ecosystems sits with school districts and their communities.

We believe that the equity journey is not linear and there is no finish line; it is one of constant learning and relearning.

We believe that schools and communities have the best of intentions to provide all students with an exceptional education experience.

We believe that each culture and social identity group has unique needs and understanding these needs requires authentic and meaningful engagement.

We commit to building our partners’ capacity and endeavor to leave them stronger and more capable at the end of an engagement than at the outset

We commit to honor the unique equity journey of each partner by mindfully structuring each engagement to meet the districts and communities where they are on their journey.

We commit to consciously facilitate each engagement acknowledging the vulnerability required to examine the influence of deeply held beliefs, norms and values on individual and school practices.

We commit to engage and honor the voices of all relevant stakeholders, particularly those members of traditionally marginalized groups.
